Manaslu Annapurna trek with Tilicho Lakes

 Our trip Manaslu Annapurna  with Tilicho Lake inks with measure trek around Manaslu with the Annapurna trek trails and connected with mustang Kingdom , a holy Hindus  pilgrims temple Mukatinath, beautiful  mustang village Kagbeni ,and  Jomsom area.  During this trip, we also get chance to cross the highest pass Larkaya la pass (5135m) the highest point on Manaslu circuit and Thorong La Pass (5416M) the highest   point on the Annapurna Circuit and visit the attractive Tilicho Lake (4949m), one of the highest lakes in the world which also holds a great cultural and sacred significant for the Hindus. The trip begins in the Cultural and religious world heritage site in Kathmandu city and takes you up to the Himalaya where you will have the grandest view of the snow capped highest mountain.

 Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

Your arrival to Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be welcomed by our Airport representative from Funny Nepal Treks & Expedition and you will be transferred to Hotel. After check in, you can either take rest or hang around the city, visit our office: it all depends upon your interests and your condition. Overnight at hotel B/B.

Day02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Preparation for Trekking

After breakfast in your hotel you will meet our tour guide, guided city tour to the UNESCO world heritage sides, historical Durbar Square, religious temple and cultural attraction in Kathmandu  (swayambhunath Stupa ,Buddanath Stupa  and Pasupatinath ,Patan Durbar Square ,Kathmandu Durbar square ) the sacred place of Kathmandu. In afternoon after sightseeing you will be introduce our trekking Leader and other team members. Trekking guide (Leader) will give short briefing about your trip and transfer to hotel overnight at hotel B/B.

Day03: Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola 8 - 9 hours

Our trip start early morning after breakfast around 7am, we drive for Sotikhola on bus or private jeep. Along the way we will see more of country side of Nepal that offer greeneries, rivers, different village, farming landscape and splendid mountain view. We will be driving on a smooth road from Kathmandu to Dhading Beshi, district headquarter of Dhading (1050m) but after driving Dhading Beshi to Arughat will be on bumpy road. Upon reaching Arughat, a major towen in the region we drive further towards Sotikhola. Overnight in Soti Khola. Including Meals: B L D

Day04: Soti Khola to Maccha khola (900m) 6-7 hour

At the crossing of the bridge, we start through the beautiful Sal forests, climb onto a point above huge rapids on the Budhi Gandaki. After walking up and down rocky trail, past tow tropical waterfalls on a steep, rocky trail clinging to the side of a cliff. We arrive at the Gurung village of Lapubesi. We further climb behind a rocky outcrop. Wher the vally upon the budhi Gandaki meanders among wide gravel bars. Dropping to the sandy river bed, we walk along rounded stones before climbing over a side ridge. We head down again to the river and cross another suspension bridge to reach Machha Khola village. Overnight in Machha Khola. Included meals :B /L /D

Day05: Machikhola to Jagat (1,900m/6,251ft)

This 20km (7 hrs) trek takes us along the sandy banks of the Kali Gandaki River as we slowly ascend to Jagat, a clean and lovely little stone paved village with lots of flower gardens.over night at Jagata . Including all meal .B/ L/ D.

Day0 6: Jagat to Deng (18,60M) 6-7 hrs

We begin today’s trip by climbing over a rocky ridge to sirdibas, the day begins by following the river bank again for the first hour up to Ghata Khola (ghata is a water mill). We then cross to the eastern bank before ascending to Philim, one of the few large settlements on this route and home to the Manaslu Conservation Area Project office. From here you can view Mt. Lapuchun (5,960m/19,608ft) after walking 6-7 hours we reach deng a beautiful  Gurung village from where we can saw Siringi Himal ,Mani wall .Overnight stay in Deng .including All meal .B L D.

Day 07: Deng to Namrung. (2630M) 6-7 hrs

Today we will trek 13km (6 hrs) through a dense forested river valley finishing with a 40-minute ascent to Namrung. He trail follows the river upstream through a dense forest. After crossing the river at an impressive spot where it thunders down a narrow gorge, the forest becomes less dense and the trail is fine again. The pleasant walk continues and after a last steep climb we reach Namrung. Overnight in Namrung. Included meals:B L D

Day 08: Namrung to Samagaon (3,530m/11,614ft) 6-7 hrs

Trek 18km (8 hrs) through the forests to Samagaon, passing several Buddhist villages along the way. These areas have been influenced by the Tibetan culture due to its proximity to Tibet, and as a result you will find many monasteries, chortens and mani-walls. Having over one hundred and fifty houses, Samagaon is surprisingly large and bustles with the energy of remote village life. From Samagaon you can see Mt. Manaslu and the Kutang Himal Massif.Overnight stay in Samagaon.including all meal .B L D

Day 9: Samagaon to Pungyen gompa return to Samagaon: 6 - 7 hours exploration

We spend the day at Samagaon both for rest and acclimatization. Today, we get acquainted with the rich Sherpa culture. We enjoy the sight of thousands of mani stones with Buddhist texts and pictures and the Sherpa women clad in traditional clothes and ornaments. On a little hill near the Sama village is an old Gompa (Pungyen Gompa), a monastery with great views of the glacier. It is named after Manaslu, Pungyen means bracelet, a good description of the two peaks. It was destroyed a year after the first unsuccessful Japanese attempt to climb Manaslu. The locals believed that the climb angered the gods, and when the Japanese came back a year later they met with a lot of resistance that they had to give up their attempt. They were finally successful in 1959. Overnight in Samagaon. Included meals:BLD

Day 10: Samagaon to Samdo(3860M) 4-5hrs

Trek 12km (3 hrs) along the river, before finally ascending at the end to Samdo. A short fifteen kilometers from the Tibetan border, Samdo is the site of a Tibetan refugee camp and affords you a rare glimpse into the lifestyle of the Tibetan people. This settlement is along the old salt-trading route with Tibet, and is still used today (though much less since the Chinese occupation of Tibet) overnight at samdo. Including all meals. B L D.

Day 11: Samdo to Dharmasala(4,480m/14,739ft) 4hr

Trek 11km (4 hrs) to the west leaving the Budhi Gandaki River and entering a sparsely vegetated area. The trail rises high above the Larke Khola leading the all the way to Dharmashala where the trail finally meets the river. Overnight to Dharmasala including all meals. B L D

Day 12: Dharmasala to Larkya la [5160m/16, 924 ft] to Bimthang [3720m/12, 201 ft]: 8 - 9 hours

This is a more strenuous day as we trek 15km (8 hrs) over the Larkya Pass (5,213m/17,151ft .After a short climb, we reach a valley on the north side of the Larkya Glaciers from where we can enjoy great views of Cho Danda and Larkya Peak. Finally, we walk across moraines of the glacier, making a gradual ascent which becomes steeper only in the last section of the pass. From the pass, there are outstanding views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and the huge Annapurna II. It is a longer day than usual to Bimtang, but to walk into these low pastures with the evening mist coming in with Mt. Manaslu looming close by is an overwhelming experience. Overnight in Bimthang. Day 13: Bhimtang to Tilije (2,800m/9,212ft) 6-7 hrs

We will trek 18km (7 hrs), making a gradual descent through rhododendron and pine forest seeing the north face of Manaslu along the way. We will make camp in the apple orchards of Tilje.overnight at Tilije including all Males B L D

Days 14: Tilije to Chame (2710M)6-7hrs

From here onwards we linked the classic Annapurna trail. From Tilije we descend first then cross a suspension bridge and ascend until we reach Thoche village. After which we follow a fairly straight trail and come across a Power House for electricity production in Bagarchhap village. On the way from Bagarchaap to Chame we negotiate a few steep forested ridges, along with several landslides on route. Remember to look up though, as you will be rewarded with sensational views of some of the major Himalayan peaks like Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m/24,688ft). Overnight in Chame B/L/D.

Days15: Chame to Pisang (3300m). 5/6hrs

The day starts through deep forest in a steep and narrow valley,crosses a river on a long bridge at 2910m. We then cross another bridge at 3040m, from there the view of the soaring Paungda Danda rock face really begins to appear. From there the trail joins to climb toPisang, which sprawls between 3200m & 3300m.Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 16: Pisang to Manang (3500m). 4/5hrs

Today we continue through the drier upper part of the Manang district, cut off from the full effect of the monsoon by the Anapurna Range. People of this region, herd yaks & raise crops for part of the year besides, they also continue to enjoy special trading rights gained way back in 1784. Leaving Pisang, we have an alternate trails north and south of the Marsyangdi River which meet up again at Mungji. The southern route by Hongde, with its airstrip, at 3325m involves less climbing than the northern route via Ghyaru, though there are better views on the trail that follows the northern bank of the river. From Mungji, the trail continues past the picturesque but partially hidden village of Bryanga at 3475m to nearby Manang at 3500m. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 17: Trek to Khangsar Village (3700 meters). 4 hours.

After acclimatized at Manang we continue our adventure for Tilicho Lake, from Manang one heads out through the western gates and then one follows the path down to the river. After crossing the the Khangsar Khola on the bridge below Khangsar and ascend the slope to the village, a village still in the old Tibetan style and which is also known as last village of Nepal. Overnight at Guesthouse.B/L/D

Day 18:Trekking to Tilicho Base Camp (4200meters) 5 hours.

Continue from Khangsar on a large path. Pass a Gompa (monastery). The route ahead goes on a recently constructed path up towards a high ridge. At one point is an intersection. One path maintains the altitude, traversing the slopes towards a place where the valley is narrow; the other continues to ascend towards the line of the ridge. The former is the old path, and is much more difficult as it goes on really steep screed; the latter is the new path that goes a completely different way. Continue along the new path, reach a high crest, and descend on switch backs carved out through the screed slopes to a side valley of the main valley. At its bottom is a brook. On the other side of it is a building known as Tilicho Base Camp at elevation of 4200 meters. Overnight at basic Guesthouse B/L/D

Day 19: Trek to Tilicho Lake (5200 meters) and back down to Tilicho Base Camp (4200meters) 6 hours.

Today our journey start early in the morning around 6 AM as we trying to avoid the wind. From Base camp to the Tilicho Lake takes another 3-4 hours. Tilicho Lake is a cold barren place in the afternoon and claimed as highest lake of the world. After we spend some time around Tilicho Lake we will return same way back to Base Camp as there are no any accommodation facilities at Tilicho Lake area. Overnight at basic Guesthouse.B/L/D

Day 20: Trek to Yak Kharka (4000 meters) 5 hours.

Returning from Base camp you can keep high and follow a track 400meters or so above Khangsar village passing through the ruins of old Khangsar and follow an unmarked trail which will lead you around and down to cross the river on an old log bridge between Gumsang and Yak Kharka. Overnight at Guesthouse.B/L/D

Day 21: Yak Kharka to Thorang High camp (4600m)

The trail descends to cross the river at 4310m we then climb up to Phedi at 4420m. At High Camp on the elevation of 4600m, we can recently found some good Guesthouses built. Your overnight stay will be there. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day22: Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (8-9 hours): Drive to Jomsom (2,743m) 1hrs

The journey from Phedi “foot of the hill” or at the foot to the 5416m Thorung La pass, begins the day. We then make the climb steeply that is regularly used and easy to follow. However, the problem may arise due to the altitude and snow. It often causes terrible problem to cross the pass if it is covered by snow. About four hours climb up to the pass marked by the chortens & prayer flags. As you reach the top, you are rewarded by the magnificent view from the top. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day23: Morning flight to Pokhara.

Today 35 minutes morning flight takes us to Pokhara from Jomsom. Once we arrived at Pokhara airport, we then drive to hotel. In the afternoon we will have a sightseeing tour around Pokhara valley, which covers Fewa Lake, Devi’s water fall, Museum. Overnight back at hotel.B/B

Day24: Drive back to Kathmandu (1345meters).

Back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. Overnight at hotel.B/B

Day 25: Transfer to international airport for your final departure.

The trip ends, our Airport Representative will drop you to the Kathmandu international airport for your final flight departure from Nepal.
